Louis XIV Style French Provincial Leathertop Partner’s Desk
Absolutely stunning French provincial French desk that combines the French Louis the 14th and and 15th styles. This is a partner’s desk that has drawers on both sides. The drawers and desk are large and deep enough that one person can easily use it without even realizing that there another set of drawer on the other side. The desk is stunningly adorned with bronze ormolu decoration throughout including figural heads on each of the four legs and a stunning crest rail running across the entire desk. The top of the desk has a beautiful black leathertop with a stainwood banding around it. The feet are capped with ormolu casters.
For those of you who are fans of North Carolina history or art this desk was once owned by prolific North Carolina artist Louis St. Lewis who actually signed the interior of this desk (don’t worry it can’t be seen from the exterior).
