18th Century Flamed Mahogany Secretary Desk w. Bookcase
This gorgeous antique secretary desk dates back to the 1700s. The secretary was intentionally constructed and adorned with the best materials including flamed mahogany primary and oak secondary woods, solid brass Chippendale hardware on the front, monumental campaign hardware on the sides, tooled leather, antique wavy bubble glass, bone keyhole, large bracket feet, and solid candle slides meant for setting candles to illuminate your workspace.
The bookcase top has adjustable shelves behind the 13 individually paned glass doors. Many believe 13 paned doors were meant to represent the original 13 colonies. The slant front hides 4 drawers, 1 door, 8 cubbies with decorative crowns, and a desktop with plenty of room for for writing, artwork, and laptop use. Four additional drawers below the desktop offer more storage space.
Overall, this is an incredible two hundred year old antique that is still functional today and adds beauty, sophistication, and elegance to your home.
