Sterling Silver Exemplar Paul Revere 1768 Bowl
While better known for his patriotism during the Revolutionary War, Paul Revere was an American silversmith and engraver. His work took many forms, one being a particularly shaped bowl with a rounded base and slightly flared edge, perched upon a short foot. This particular reproduction weighs an impressive 777 sterling grams, and is marked on the bottom as Sterling by Fina, another name for Michael C. Fina Co, a private family owned and operated New York City-based fine goods retailer. Founded by Michael Charles Fina and Rose Rosenblatt in 1935, Michael C. Fina opened on the fourth floor of 580 Fifth Avenue at 47th Street in Manhattan. In early years the company was a wholesaler specializing in fine silver plate and sterling silver hollowware.
