Description
This charming circa 1931 French watercolor, titled La Espalion and signed lower right “Marc,” depicts sun-washed riverside houses cascading along the Lot River in warm, luminous tones. Rendered in a loose European School style, the scene captures the rustic architecture and tranquil atmosphere of the French countryside. Housed in a period gilt composition frame and originally from a Paris collection before being sent to the United States, the work was later sold at Leland Little Auctions in 2008 for $215.
