Late 1800’s Moorish Inspired Accent Table / Desk
Hailing from mid to late 1800’s is this Moorish inspired writing desk / end/accent table. Built as much to show the artisan’s skill as for it’s purpose this piece was almost certainly made in central Europe but was inspired by the Moors of Spain who were known for this unique architectural style of applied fretwork over a solid base.
This table has an absolutely amazing backsplash fretwork which you can best see in the photo with the white backdrop shining through. There is equally as impressive fretworks on the sides and underneath the table-top. Of course, the entire piece is made in the unique relief style known to the Moors of Spain.
